Be Part of the Mission

Mission Maasai events are more than dates on a calendar. They are opportunities to serve, connect, give, and go deeper into the work God is doing among the Maasai people of Kenya.

Whether you travel to Empukani, volunteer right here at home, gather with other supporters, or simply come to hear the stories of what God is doing, there is a place for you in the mission.

Pastors Conference

November 12 to 20, 2026. Every pastor in the network comes to Empukani with his wife for a week of worship, fellowship and training, and this year the week closes with the Empukani Seminary graduation.

The annual calendar

Five events, every year.

Three of them are here at home and open to anyone who shows up. The two in Empukani are not, so both are explained in full.

Summer VBS Trip

Every summer · Empukani, Kenya

Each summer, a team travels to Empukani to lead Vacation Bible School, spend time with students and families, encourage the local church, and build meaningful relationships with our Maasai brothers and sisters. For many team members, this is their first opportunity to meet the children they have prayed for and supported from thousands of miles away. It is a week filled with worship, laughter, service, and the opportunity to see the mission firsthand.

This trip is intended for people of strong faith who connect well with children. We hope that each person who makes this commitment of time and money will develop a long term connection to the Great Commission and stay involved in Mission Maasai in some capacity.

Limited spots available.

The trip costs about $3,500, most of it airfare, so the figure moves with ticket prices. A $1,000 deposit is due with the application.

Applicants must be at least 16, and anyone under 18 travels with a parent. Every traveler, including a spouse or a child, completes their own application.

Pastors Conference

Annual · Empukani, Kenya

The Pastors Conference brings together pastors and ministry leaders from across the Mission Maasai church network for a time of biblical teaching, encouragement, collaboration, and spiritual refreshment. Pastors come with their wives, and this year the week closes with the Empukani Seminary graduation.

As these leaders return to their churches and communities, they carry with them renewed encouragement, biblical teaching, and tools to strengthen the ministry God has entrusted to them.

When we invest in leaders, the impact reaches far beyond one person.

Christmas in July

Every July · United States

You don't have to travel to Kenya to experience the joy of being part of the mission. Christmas in July gives friends and supporters of Mission Maasai an opportunity to gather together, hear what is happening in Kenya, meet members of our team, and celebrate what God has done.

We prepare a special gift for every child, each one carrying a note of encouragement from the USA to Kenya.

Come help us make Christmas special for every child at the school in Empukani.

School Supply Drive

Every January · United States

Each year, volunteers gather to pack school supplies for students at the school in Empukani. It is a practical way to serve, but it is also an opportunity to come together as a community and remind children thousands of miles away that they are seen, loved, and remembered.

Bring your family. Bring a friend. Come ready to serve.

Annual Banquet

Annual · United States

The Annual Banquet is one of the most special nights of the year for the Mission Maasai family. It is an evening of fellowship, stories, ministry updates, and celebration as we look back at what God has done and look ahead to what He is calling us to do next.

Come hear firsthand about the people and communities being impacted through education, church planting, leadership development, healthcare, and the many other ways Mission Maasai is serving in Kenya.

Come celebrate what God has done. Come hear where He is leading us next.

Photographs

A year in pictures.

From the trip, the conference, and the evenings here at home.

Not everyone is called to the field.

Most of the people who carry this work have never been to Kenya. They give every month, they pray for the Maasai by name, and they bring someone else along. That is not second place. That is the work.
