What things cost
Fund something specific.
Every line of this ministry has a real number attached. Pick one and close it.
One church building
The full cost of a building. We'll send you photographs when it's finished, and the name of the pastor who leads the congregation.
Give thisOne student, one year
Meals every school day, uniform, shoes and supplies at the school in Empukani.
Give thisOne secondary student
Boarding school for a student who earned a place on the national exam: fees, uniform and travel.
Give thisWhat is open right now
Each of these goes straight to its campaign in REACH, where a donor can see where it stands and give.
The Hope Shamba Tractor
A $75,000 tractor of the farm's own, to plant on time and break ground for Maasai families starting farms. Why a tractor →
Give to thisEmpukani Seminary
Where network pastors gather to study, collaborate and build each other up.
Give to thisEmpukani Health Clinic
Primary care for the families around the church, school and seminary.
Give to thisGoals and totals live in REACH, where they stay current on their own. The site names the work and sends people there.
Monthly giving
Give monthly. Make an ongoing difference.
A recurring gift is worth more to this work than the same amount given once.
Dependable monthly support lets us commit to a cohort of pastors for twelve months, keep the clinic stocked, and promise a child's school year before the money has been raised. It is what makes it possible to walk with people over time rather than in bursts.
Other ways to give
Stock & donor-advised funds
Giving appreciated stock or recommending a DAF grant often costs you less and gives us more.
Employer matching
Many employers double a gift. Send us your match form and we'll complete it.
Church & small group partnership
Adopt a church plant, the seminary, or a year of clinic operations. We'll send updates your people can see.

Considering a major gift?
Talk to Andrew Gwynn, our executive director. He'll walk you through the budget line by line and tell you where a larger gift would change the most.

Where the money goes, and who decides.
We are small on purpose. Nobody is paid to run Mission Maasai from the States, and every dollar comes from someone who chose to give it.
Read the filing
Mission Maasai is a registered 501(c)(3), EIN 82-1139049. Our IRS Form 990 is a public document and we would rather hand it to you than make you go looking.
It will show you a small organization. That is the point. A church building costs $8,500 here, a child's school year costs $360, and there is very little standing between what you give and the thing it pays for.
We would rather point you at the filing than at a percentage taken out of it.
Who decides
Spending is approved by a board of four volunteers, none of whom take any compensation: Pastor Jeff Jenkins, Andrew Gwynn, Pastor Timothy Moilo and Jeff Knebel, Esq.
Pastor Timothy leads the church at Empukani. The man who tells us what is needed in Kenya sits on the board that approves the budget.
You can be part of their story.
Give, pray, or come with us. All three are ways into this work, and none of them are only about money.
Questions
Before you give
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Mission Maasai is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 82-1139049. You'll receive a receipt by email immediately and an annual giving summary each January.
Does $8,500 really build a whole church?
Yes. That is the full current cost of a building for one of our congregations, materials and labor. Every building in the network has been paid for this way, and at the moment we're completing roughly one a month.
How much of my gift reaches Kenya?
The large majority. We're volunteer-led, no one on our board draws a salary, and we publish our expense breakdown annually. Ask us for the current year's detail any time.
Who decides how the money is spent?
Requests originate with our Maasai partners. Pastor Timothy, Enoch Pariat and our staff in Kenya tell us what is needed, and our board approves the budget. Pastor Timothy sits on that board. We don't fund projects the community didn't ask for.
Can I designate my gift to one area?
Yes. Choose a designation above, or give to a specific open project. If a project is fully funded, we'll contact you before redirecting anything.
Do you take gifts of stock or DAF grants?
Yes. Email us and we'll send transfer instructions the same day.
